Frank James Miceli

Frank Miceli passed peacefully on December 17 at the age of 75 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Sayville, New York. From an early age, Frank’s adventurous and independent spirit was unmistakable. A favorite story of family lore recalls the time Frank and his eldest brother Joe found themselves with a cache of fireworks and climbed to the roof of a nearby school to light up the sky, eventually handing over some (not all) of the fireworks to the local police. As a child growing up with his brothers, Frank was known for his mischief, creativity, and a healthy disregard for rules, traits that would later evolve into resilience, determination, and strength of character.

In his youth, Frank struggled with addiction and demonstrated tremendous strength and resolve through his lifelong commitment to sobriety. He dedicated both his personal and professional life to being a source of light for others walking the path of recovery. Through deep friendship, steady counsel, and his work as a drug and alcohol counselor, Frank offered compassion, understanding, and hope to many.

Frank also expressed his generosity and care for others through music. In his later years, he shared his love of music by playing the organ at churches, the accordion and piano at nursing homes, and teaching piano lessons to students of all ages. Through music, he brought comfort, joy, and connection to countless lives.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Merril Miceli; his son-in-law, Sam Price; and his grandson, Waylon Price. He is also survived by his eldest brother, Joe Miceli, and sister-in-law, Donna Miceli; his youngest brother, Bob Miceli, and sister-in-law, Karen Miceli; as well as his many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Frankie.

Frank’s life story is one of remarkable inner strength and renewal. His kindness, humility, and commitment to helping others live on in the many lives he touched.

Interment- Saturday December 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Cemetery, Sayville
