Frances V. Edwards

Frances Virginia Edwards, 85, of Blue Point, NY died April 29, 2025.

Born May 13,1940 to William and Mildred (Hollins) Stevens, Fran is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years Ronald Edwards, daughter Holly (Frank) Connolly of Stamford, CT and son Ronald (Patty) Edwards of Star, ID, sisters Carol Correggia of Bayport, NY, Nancy (George) Tvelia of Blue Point, NY, Deborah Kelly of East Moriches, NY, brothers Jack (Merrie) Stevens of Bayport, NY, Kenneth (Robin) Stevens of Grand Junction, CO, and sisters-in-law Katherine Stevens of Islip Terrace, NY and Kathryn Stevens of Bellport, NY. 

Cherished grandchildren include Robert (Catherine) Weber of East Patchogue, NY, Thomas (Gabrielle) Connolly of Morrisville, PA, Kathryn Connolly of Bryn Mawr, PA, Lauren Connolly of Stamford, CT, and Brian (Emma) Connolly of Boston, MA, in addition to her pride and joy great-grandchildren Penelope Weber, Abagael Weber, Porter Connolly, Rogan Connolly, and Nora Connolly.  Fran is also survived by over 30 nieces and nephews and numerous great- and great-great nieces and nephews.

Fran was predeceased by her daughter, Penny Lynn Weber, brothers Robert Stevens, William Stevens, and Richard Stevens, brothers-in-law Pasquale Correggia and James Kelly and nephew Ryan Tvelia.

While she worked in some family-owned businesses and Terrace Dairy in later years, her world revolved around her family.  Family gatherings were a cornerstone, whether small or large, and Fran was always available to lend a hand or an ear and took pride in everyone’s accomplishments. Often called the matriarch of the family, she was so much more.

From a family of firefighters, Fran joined the Bayport Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary at the age of 16, was the Treasurer for over 60 years, and remained a member in good standing until her death.

Firematics Services will be held 8:00 pm at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home, 683 Montauk Highway, Bayport, NY. Private cremation to follow
