Florence Hiscock

Florence Hiscock, 96, a resident of Bayport, LI since 1968, died on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Born and raised in Newfoundland, Canada, Florence came to the U.S. at 19 years of age.  She was an active member of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Sayville where she served on the Alter Guild, the Thrift Shop,  and the ECW. Florence was also very dedicated to her community by volunteering for many years with the Long Island Blood Bank, local hospitals, and various nursing homes.  In addition, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, including participating in the Red Hatters and Blue Point Homemakers.

Predeceased by her husband Raymond, in 2011 and son-in-law Peter, in 2021, she is survived by her loving children; her son John Hiscock, and his wife Catherine of Wilton, CT and daughter Karen McGorty, of Sayville, NY; her four grandchildren: Lisa, Jeffrey, Ryan, and Michele; and her 5 great-grandchildren: Amanda, Juliana, Travis, Matthew, and Andrew, as well as her siblings, Dorothy, Emma, Gladys, Elsie, and Roland.

Friends and relatives will gather on Thursday, November 2nd from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville, NY.  A church service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 3rd at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Sayville. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
