Esther M. Stattel

Esther M. Stattel, 80, of Blue Point, LI, died on Tuesday, October 8, 2019.  Born and raised in Brooklyn, Esther worked for many years for White Weld and Company in Manhattan and later for more than twenty years as an administrative assistant with Stony Brook University.

Mrs. Stattel is survived by her husband, Philip, her two sisters, Barbara DiMaio O’Brien of Bayport and Michele Mirabella of North Carolina, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Esther was predeceased by her brother, Edward Messano, Jr.

Friends and relatives will gather 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. on Friday, October 11th at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 12th at 9:45 a.m at Our Lady of the Snow RC Church in Blue Point and interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.

In lieu of flowers, contributions made in Esther’s memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065, are appreciated.
