Emily Webber Burns

Emily Webber Burns, born and raised in Maine and a resident of Bohemia for 56 years, passed away on November 12, 2023. Emily graduated from nursing school and worked for over 30 years as a Registered Nurse at South Side Hospital. She was an active member of Peace Christian Church in Bohemia, staying involved in many church functions. She and her husband John loved to travel, making cross country trips across the United States, stopping in 47 of the 50 states. As an accomplished quilter, Emily would buy a piece of fabric from every state and sew that into that state’s shape to make one large quilt encompassing the entire United States. Not being an excellent swimmer, Emily made all of her children take many extensive swimming lessons to become the strong safe swimmers she was not.

Emily is survived by her husband of 60 years, John; her children: Heather Fredericks, Robert and Andrea Burns, Holly and Robert Williams, and Catherine and Michael Pallotta; her grandchildren: Derek, Justin, Rachel, Anika, Robert, Alex, Jack, and Connor; and her sister, Mary Hartman.

Visitation- Friday November 17, 2023 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at our West Sayville Funeral Home, 245 Main St.

Church Service- Saturday Novemeber 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Peace Christian Church, 680 Ocean Ave., Bohemia, NY 11716
