Elizabeth A. Smith, 79, of Bayport, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Liz is remembered fondly by her husband, Tom, and her four children: Michelle Smith-Frawley and her husband, Keith; Marianne McMenamin and her husband, Brian; Tommy and his wife, Cristin; and Maggie Plitt and her husband, Clay. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren—Genevieve, Shay, Rachel, Kaelin, and Josh—and her brother, William Goff. Liz was predeceased by her brother, Daniel Goff.
A devoted wife for 55 years, Liz nurtured her children with love and created countless cherished memories. As a proud and affectionate "Abba," she found immense joy in spoiling her grandchildren. Liz valued her many enduring friendships and was an active member of her community, generously sharing her time and talents. Her creativity was evident in all her endeavors, enriching the lives of those around her. The loss of Liz will be deeply felt by all who knew her, yet her legacy will continue to inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in all whose lives she touched.
