Eleanor Susan Reilly Rueb, 69, of Sayville died on June 20, 2025 after a 25-year-long battle with multiple sclerosis.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Glenn, of 48 years, and two children, Patrick Rueb (Beth Rotella) and April Rueb McKenzie (Andrew). Predeceased by her parents, George and Anne Reilly. Adored sister to Patricia Thomas (Robert), Mary Antonucci (Richard), Theresa LaMarca (Anthony), and Georgette Castelli (Randal). Cherished grandmother to Maria and Arthur.
Eleanor was a devoted mother, taking a large role in the Sunrise Drive PTA, Sayville Little League, Cub Scouts, and St. Lawrence Sunday School while working full-time caring for adults with Alzheimer's. She loved sewing outfits for her children and intricate quilts. She took great pride in her garden, always adding perennials and weeding. She read constantly and spent hundreds of hours at the Sayville Library. She will be remembered and loved by many.
Family will receive visitors Tuesday, June 24th 2 - 4:30 & 7 - 9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Hwy. West Sayville. A chapel service Words of Remembrance will take place at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wednesday, June 25th family and friends will gather at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home for a prayer at 10:30 a.m. followed by a committal at Union Cemetery, Sayville.
