Edna T. Limouze

Edna T. Limouze, 101, a resident of Sayville for more than seventy years, passed away on January 24, 2022 in Rochester, NY.  Edna was raised on Long Island and attended South Huntington Schools before going on to attend New Paltz Normal School and Hofstra University, where she would earn her Bachelor’s Degree.  Mrs. Limouze was a longtime teacher and worked in Holtsville School, Franklin Square and Connetquot School Districts.

Mrs. Limouze was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sayville where she taught Sunday School and served as superintendent, was Director of their Altar Guild and as President of Ladies’ Aid.  She was also a longtime member and Past President of the Sayville Garden Club and the South Shore College Women’s Club, she was a life member of the Federated Garden Club of New York State as well as a volunteer at the Sayville Cabinet for the Sick and Interfaith Nutrition Network.  She was honored by the Rotary Club of Sayville as a Paul Harris Fellow.

Mrs. Limouze was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Harold in 2014 and son-in-law David Price in 2016.  She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Limouze Price of Rochester, NY and Wendy Joy Limouze Forrest (Keven) of North Chili, NY, her grandchildren, Jeff, Jim(Karen), Dan(Michele), Marcie(Brian), and Cassie and great-grandchildren, Ben (Tori), Becca, Liam Brenden, Emma, Garrett, Colin, Hannah, Valencia, and Derek.

Friends and relatives will gather for a celebration of Edna's life on Sunday, May 29th, 2-4 p.m. at our West Sayville funeral home.
