Douglas Ivar Almskog, age 76, resident of Bohemia, died on September 6, 2025.
Douglas retired as a Sergeant in the NYPD and also proudly served as a Lieutenant in the US Coast Guard Reserves.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Christine, his children, Lori Quagliozzi and her husband Michael, Marion Fenwick, Eric and his wife Maria, Carolyn King and her husband James, his grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Alexis, Reilly, Trinity, Grace, and June, and his siblings John Almskog and Karen Ryan. He is predeceased by his grandson, George, his siblings Fredrick, Kathleen and Evelyn.
Douglas will be remembered for his devotion to his family and for his love of golf and fishing.
Family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 11th from 2 – 4 p.m. & 7 – 9 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. A funeral mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene RC Church in Bohemia. Interment to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Sayville.
