Doreen A. Rizzo

Doreen A. Rizzo, 87, of West Sayville, LI, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025.  Raised in Queens, Doreen moved to West Sayville in 1961 and worked for almost thirty years as a mail carrier out of the West Sayville Post Office.  Mrs. Rizzo loved to tap dance, go to the beach and swim with her many friends at Byron Lake Pool in Oakdale.

Mrs. Rizzo was predeceased by her husband Gerard in 1978.  She is survived by her two children, Jerry (Lisa) and Melissa Shore (Tom Gundermann), her three grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kristen and Catherine, her son-in-law Tim, her sister, Alice Brodmerkel, also of West Sayvilleand many nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives will gather on Friday, February 7th from 3-7 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville where a service will be held at 6 p.m.  Interment and committal services will be held on Monday, February 10th at noon at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.
