Donald J. Bastone, a thirty year resident of Ocala, FL died peacefully on May 26, 2021. He was 94 years old. Donald is survived by his wife, Dolores; his four daughters, Denise (late husband Thomas) Wisnieski, Doreen (Sebastian) Neglia, Deb (Scott) Norton and Diane (Mat) Marucci; his 7 beloved grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons.
Donald was born in the Bronx, NY and was a proud veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II. A former resident of Smithtown and Coram, he owned and operated Don’s Transmissions in the Huntington area for many years. In his later years, Donald and Dolores retired to Ocala, FL where they enjoyed their new home, warm temperatures, and weekly bridge games.
Donald had a life long love of music and enjoyed playing the piano and listening to Dixieland. He cherished going out to lunch with family and friends, and had a love for "watching the horses run around" as he liked to say. Time with family was especially precious. Donald's generosity, giving heart, quick wit, and easy-going personality endeared him to everyone he met in life. He will be deeply missed.
