            Diane S. Maher, a resident of Blue Point for 15 years, and prior resident of Sayville for 42 years, passed away on July 11, 2019. Diane graduated Central Islip High School class of 1959 and went on to work for the Bay Shore Brightwaters Library becoming a member of the Friends of Bay Shore Library Association. She was also an active participant with the Bayport Blue Point Heritage Association. 

            She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Thomas, her children Thomas, and his wife Carlene, of Sayville, John, and his wife Trish, of Sayville, and Leanne Berg, and her husband Butch, of Sayville, and her grandchildren, Kevin, Tyler, Katelyn, Alyssa, Joseph, Harrison, and Emilie. Diane is predeceased by her brother John B. Sayward.

            Friends and family gathered at the Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home, Bayport. A religious service was held at the funeral home. Interment followed at Blue Point Cemetery, Blue Point.  Donations in Diane’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor #17, Chicago, IL 60601 or Day Haven 2210 Smithtown Ave. Ronkonkoma, NY 11779 would be appreciated.
