Deacon George Reich, 79, of Bohemia, LI, died on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Born and raised in the Bronx, George was a Detective with NYPD for 21 ½ years and later worked as a Forensic Scientist in Ballistics with the Suffolk County Crime Lab. He worked with Catholic Charities in Parish Social Ministries and was ordained a Roman Catholic Deacon in 2000. Deacon George was an active member at St. John Nepomucene RC Church in Bohemia since 1973 and ministered with great joy at the parish.
Deacon George is survived by his loving wife, Linda, his four sons, Frank and his wife Margaret of Pennsylvania, Christopher and his wife Laura of Wantagh, Brad and his wife Susan of Lindenhurst and Brian of Patchogue, his grandchildren, Alexa, Jaimie, Benjamin, Matthew, Dylan, Sadie, Jason, Brayden and Randy. George was predeceased by his sister Gloria Semeria.
Friends and relatives will gather on Wednesday, September 28th, 12 noon to 4 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in BAYPORT. A Mass of the Transferal will be held on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at St. John Nepomucene RC Church in Bohemia where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon Thursday, September 29th. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
