Charles J. Koehler, December 6, 1934-December 18, 2025. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Proud son of Brooklyn, fifty-two-year resident of East Setauket and eight-year resident of West Babylon.

He is survived by his children, Charles of Alexandria, VA, Michael and his wife Laurie of Kingwood, TX, Robert and his wife Christine of Monument, CO, David and his wife Dena of Sayville, Janet Carey and her husband Travis of West Babylon, his grandchildren Alex and his wife Sarah of Colorado Springs, CO Kevin and his fiancée Kristin of Denver, CO, Daniel and his wife Lindsay of Sayville, Elizabeth of Oakland, CA, Erin of Sayville, David of TX/CO, Jacob, Joshua and Noah of West Babylon. Three great-grandchildren, Rylee, Grayson, Brooklyn, and one on the way, his sister Phyllis Mongno and her husband Eugene of Keene, NH.
Charles looked forward to his daily phone conversations with his sister Phyllis and brother in-law Gene. They mostly commiserated about the Mets and the Giants. Charles graduated from Polytechnical Institute of Brooklyn with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He worked for over 40 years with Con-Ed. After retirement he worked for 8 years with the IRS. Charles was a founding member and devoted parishioner of Messiah Lutheran Church. He proudly served in the US Army as a Lineman during the occupation of Germany after WWII.. Charles’ greatest happiness came from spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow up. He enjoyed his daily one-mile walks when he would smile and wave to all his neighbors. There were many years of traveling with his beloved Tillie and their life-long friends. Charles was undoubtedly happy to be reunited with the Mountain Dew Crew.
