Catherine Kinsey

Catherine Kinsey, 101, a resident of Sayville, LI for more than seventy years, died peacefully on September 16, 2020.  A US Navy veteran, Mrs. Kinsey served as a nurse during World War II and was named Navy War Bond Queen.  She was also a longtime registered nurse in Labor and Delivery at Southside Hospital and a licensed child-birth educator.

Mrs. Kinsey was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2000.  She is survived by her six children, Patricia Castellani (the late Robert) of Baiting Hollow, Donald Jr. (Margaret) of Virginia, Mary Lou Homestead (Robert) of Sayville, Kathleen Gerdts (Robert) of Laurel, LI, David of East Patchogue and Andrew (Susan) of Cutchogue, as well as her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends and relatives will gather on Monday, September 21st at 11:15 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church in Sayville and interment will follow at Sayville Union Cemetery.
