Caryl Fay Nicholson

Caryl Fay Nicholson, passed away on January 21, 2021 at the age of 81. Raised in West Sayville, Caryl moved to Blue Point where she resided for over 60 years. She was a former member of the West Sayville Ladies Auxillary, was a Para Professional with Western Suffolk BOCES, and also enjoyed her time working for the Blue Point Clamming Company and volunteering at the Bayport Methodist Churchs Barn Thrift Shop. Known to the community as “Mom Nick,” Caryl had an open door policy when it came to her children and their friends. She would welcome anyone into her home that needed a place to stay or a warm meal. She was also dedicated to helping children with disabilities.

She is survived by her sister Susan and husband Barry Johnson along with her children, Thomas and his wife Debra, John and his wife Annabell,  Daniel and his wife Cheryl, and Amy and her husband Todd Furchert,  her grandchildren, Bridget, Michael, Shawn, Robert, Melinda, Terry, Katie, Sabrina, Keith, Lauren, Dylan, and Alyssia, and her great grandson Luke Thomas. She is predeceased by her husband William Thomas.
