Carolyn M. Harrell

Carolyn M. Harrell, age 88, resident of West Sayville died on March 29, 2025.

Carolyn was born to Wilfred and Harriet Clausen in Hanover, PA in 1936.  She attended Gettysburg College, where she met her future husband of 65 years, Jerry Harrell.  Jerry was stationed in France, where Michael and Theresa were born.  They returned to Long Island, where Danny was born.

Carolyn raised three children while finishing her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education. She taught elementary school over 30 years in the Comsewogue school district.

Carolyn loved playing cards and games, spending time with friends, and hosting family get-togethers.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Michael and his wife Cathy, Theresa Theall and her husband Charlie, Daniel and his wife Christine, her grandchildren Lori-Anne and Chad, and her step-grandchildren, Sara and Madison. She was predeceased by her husband Jerry in 2022.

Family will receive visitors on Sunday, April 13th from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Hwy. West Sayville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 14th 10:00 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene RC Church,  1140 Locust Avenue, Bohemia.  Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
