Carol Einbinder, 83, of Sayville, NY, died suddenly on March 9, 2025. The daughter of Sam and Bessie Einbinder, Carol was born and raised in Brooklyn, where she lived for 79 years before moving out to Sayville in 2022. Carol graduated from Brooklyn College and went on to teach elementary school and English as a Second Language at P.S. 191 in Bedford Stuyvesant for more than forty years. After retiring from teaching, Carol worked for years with the United Federation of Teachers.
Carol was always a very active member of her community. While in Brooklyn, she was a longtime member and former President of the Brooklyn Tenants Council and lectured at local Weight Watchers groups. She was also extremely artistic, loved to crewel and enjoyed the Sunday, NY Times crossword puzzles. In Sayville, Carol settled at the Brightview Senior Living where she very quickly became President of the Independent Living Resident Council.
More than anything, however, Carol was devoted to her family; caring for her parents and always there for her two sisters and their families. She is survived by her sisters, Harriet Tritch (Bob) of Holbrook, and Gloria Nathan (the late Wally) of Arizona, her niece, Fran (Lee) and nephew, Ross, as well as great-nieces, Samantha and Jessica and her great-nephews, Blake and Jack.
Friends and relatives will gather on Thursday, March 13th, 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville where a service will be held at noon. Interment will follow at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon.
