Carmen Ana Arroyo

Carmen Ana Arroyo, 82, of Sayville, NY, died on Thursday, December 11, 2025.  Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Carmen came to the US at 17 years old when she entered the Dominican Sisters of Amityville where see lived and taught for fourteen years.  After leaving the Dominican Sisters, Carmen went on to teach in the Brentwood Public Schools for more than thirty years.  Carmen earned her Bachelor’s Degree at St. Francis College in Brooklyn and went on to earn two Master’s Degrees at Long Island University.

Ms. Arroyo is survived by her spouse, Rosemary Fretto, her siblings, Felipe, Carlos and Juan, all of Puerto Rico, her siblings by marriage, Dennis and Daniel Fretto and Denise Italiano, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives will gather for a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 20th at Good Shepherd RC Church.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home.
