Bryan ODonnell Obituary

Naples, FL – Formerly of Oakdale, New York, Bryan P. ODonnell, born to William B. ODonnell and Mary Worst, passed away suddenly, leaving behind a legacy of love and service. As a young man, Bryan proudly served as a U.S. Marine, and later dedicated 35 years of his life to the Suffolk County Police Department. He lived a life of integrity, strength, and deep commitment to his country, community and family.

Bryan's greatest joy was the love of his life, Carolyn, his devoted wife of 57 years. Together, they shared a bond that was unbreakable and filled with decades of cherished memories. His passing, though sudden, was with Carolyn at his side—a testament to the enduring love they shared.

He was preceded in death by his brother, William B. ODonnell, and is survived by his brother, John R. ODonnell. Bryan’s love and pride extended to his three children and their wives, Bryan (Georgi), Christopher (Jennifer), and Keith (Natalie), as well as his five beloved grandchildren: Landon (Bryan), Brady and Aidan (Christopher), Ryan Novara, and Sophia (Keith). He held his family close to his heart, always offering a steady hand, a kind word, and an unwavering presence in their lives.

Bryan also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cherished in-laws, and an extensive circle of friends who loved him dearly. In his later years, he became affectionately known as "Pops"—a role he embraced with warmth and joy, leaving an unforgettable mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

His life was one of service, love, and devotion—a man who made the world brighter for all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on, not just in the lives of his family, but in the many hearts he touched throughout his lifetime.

Friends and relatives will gather on Sunday, December 29, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, December 30 at St. John Nepomucene in Bohemia, and interment will follow at the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.

In lieu of flowers, Bryan's family would appreciate donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
