Antoine "Tony" Butelli

Antoine “Tony” Butelli, 83, of Sayville, NY, died on Thursday, January 8, 2026.  Born in Nice, France, Tony sailed to the US on the Queen Mary  at the age of 8, and his family settled in Nassau County.  He earned a Bachelor’s Degree at SUNY Oswego, a Master’s Degree at Hofstra University, and another at CW Post University.  Tony cherished his career as an educator, mentor, and librarian at Ward Melville High School and Stony Brook University.  He loved books, motorcycles, fitness, travel, skiing, and, more than anything, his family.

Mr. Butelli is survived by: his wife, Susan, his  children, Louis John of Manhattan and Linda Ann and her partner David Manheim of Sayville, two grandchildren, Norah and Susan Manheim, as well as his sister, Odette Trimble and her husband Jim of Florida, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Blackbirds’ Grille, 553 Old Montauk Hwy, Sayville, NY 11782 from 1pm-4pm.
