Anthony T. Sanseviro, 80, a longtime resident of Sayville since 1967, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Anthony left high school at the age of 17 to pursue a career in the insurance industry, motivated by the need to support his family and care for his ill mother. In 1988, he founded the A. Sanseviro Insurance Agency in Sayville, which is now operated by two of his children, Anthony Jr. and Jeanne.
Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sharon; his three children: Anthony Jr. and his wife Andrea of Bayport, Theresa Vener and her husband Ron of Maryland, and Jeanne of Sayville; his five grandchildren: Jack, Kateri, Max, Joseph, and Leah; as well as his sister, Angela of Connecticut, and sister-in-law Carol Anglim of Bayport. He was predeceased by brothers-in-law Steve Anglim and Joseph Kane.
A devoted fan, he enjoyed watching his beloved Mets, Giants, and Rangers, feeling immense joy as he witnessed each team secure titles and championships.
Family was the most important aspect of his life, and he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren, taking them on trips to Aruba and Disney. He loved attending their sporting events and activities, cheering them on with enthusiasm. Later he supported his grandchildren online as if he were right there in the stands.
Holidays always meant family at Nanny and Papa’s house, where family, extended family, and friends were always welcome. He was at his happiest when he was surrounded by his family. He showered his grandchildren with love and respect, treasuring every moment spent with them until his passing.
