Anthony Donadio, age 97, a resident of Sayville since 1963, passed peacefully in North Carolina the morning of Thursday, October 17, 2024. A US Navy Veteran who served at the end of WW II, Mr. Donadio also worked for the US Post Office, Republic Aviation, and the Suffolk County Police Department. Tony was an Islip Town Police Department Officer until they merged with the SCPD. He retired as an original Suffolk County Police Officer after 29 1/2 years in 1988.
Mr. Donadio was a loving father to Janet and son-in-law John Cozza of Medford and Venice, Florida and Marybeth and son-in-law William Hanson of Charlotte, NC. He was the beloved Poppy to Emily Cozza. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his dear wife Marion in 1999 and newborn son Robert Anthony in October of 1956.
Relatives and friends will gather Wednesday, October 23rd 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Hwy. West Sayville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 24th 10:00 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene RC Church 1140 Locust Avenue Bohemia. Interment will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale
