Ann Pallilo Obituary

We mourn the passing, but of much more importance celebrate the life, of Ann Pallilo.

One could not find a more selfless and compassioniate person, whether as a Wife, Mom, other relative, friend, acquaintance, co-worker, or complete stranger.

Born in Port Jefferson to Gus and Margarete Hausmann, Ann lived her whole life on Long Island. She met the love of her life, Jim, at an establishment called Schultzy's in Mastic Beach. It was not love at first sight for either. They both came around.

They would be married for more than 46 years, and seemingly visited 46 countries together before Jim's passing in 2012.

Ann worked 45 years at Lakeville Industries which became another family to her. Jim worked at Lakeville with her for about 35 of those years, as did their daughter. Her son made it through one summer.

She gained an additional family in Texas, when her son married his softball-playing sweetheart there and got two stepchildren in the bargain.

Two stints at an assisted living facility in Ann's later years led to a new batch of friends, a near obsession with the game Rummikub, and a new preference for spiky and/or purple-tinged hair. She became the unofficial birthday card maker for many of the residents.

She lived life to the fullest, regardless of circumstances. Different passions at different times in her life included decorating birthday cakes, photography, travel, jigsaw puzzles, and reading suspense novels.

Ann is survived by her son Charles and daughter Karen, daughter-in-law Anna, granddaughters Miranda and Krista, and granddog Theo, and also by her sister-in-law Connie and too many nieces and nephews to name.

Visitation- Thursday May 29, 2025 from 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at our Bayport Funeral Home, 683 Montauk Hwy.

****Mrs. Pallilo requested that people wear their favorite color. No black, unless it IS your favorite. Hers was purple. The hair gave that away****
