Anita Tapken Teague

Anita Teague, 96, of Port St. Lucie Florida, formerly of Bayport NY passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2022.  She was born and raised in Hempstead, NY. In her early adult life, she worked for American Express in their travel bureau getting to travel the world providing reviews.  As a member of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church, she was involved with ECW (Episcopal Church Women) and Adult Sunday classes. She was involved with Bayport Homemakers, garden clubs in Sayville and Port St. Lucie. She was a volunteer with the Savannah’s Preserve Park in Port St. Lucie. Anita was an avid gardener, walker, hiker and kayaked into her 90’s. She and her husband were long time members of the Sayville Yacht Club. Anita was predeceased by her husband Geoffrey D. Teague (1999), son Geoffrey D. Teague, Jr. (2019), Douglas R. Teague (2022). She is survived by her daughters Barbara Mayo of Hamilton, NJ, Claudia (Fred) Richter of Taylorsville, NC, daughter-in-law Sharon Teague of Bayport, NY. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. 

Visitation:  Tuesday, November 22nd  4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Hwy. West Sayville

Church Service:  Wednesday, November 23rd  11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Episcopal Church Middle Rd. Sayville

Interment to follow: St. Ann's Cemetery
