Amanda Olivia Sands, 84, of West Sayville, NY, died on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Born and raised in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Amanda lived most of her life in Bensonhurst where she raised her family before moving out to West Sayville in 2012.
Amanda was predeceased by her husband Carl in 2020. She is survived by her three children, Adam and his wife Michelle of Bohemia, Tracy Drabczyk and her husband John of Staten Island and Reade and his wife Kerry of West Sayville, her ten grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Olivia, Lindsay, Rebecca, Rachel, Charlie, Benjamin, Michael and Sammy, her great-grandson, Henry, as well as her niece, Helen “Bunny” Westfield. Her family knew her lovingly as Bubba.
Bubba was a kind-hearted woman adored by all. She was the funniest, most genuine person with a pure soul. She was a force who enjoyed sitting in the sun. She lived her life showing compassion and offering help to anyone who needed it. Too few words exist to explain her impact. She carried a light within her that touched everyone around her. To know her was to love her.
Friends and relatives will gather on Tuesday, June 3rd, 4-8 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville where a religious service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
