“There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, that light remains.”
Alison Charley, affectionately known as Ali, was one of those people. Everyone who had the honor of knowing Alison, especially those blessed to call her family or friend, can attest to the amazing light and love she radiated so willingly and abundantly to everyone she met. Alison's heart was open to the world, she never met a stranger. She enjoyed every moment of her life, living each to its fullest.
With Alison’s infectious smile, zest for life, and endless grace, it was impossible not to feel joy in her presence. Alison loved live music, beaches, hoola-hoops and most of all, her family. She was eternally optimistic. Alison was a loving and affectionate mother and “Mima”, and was known throughout her life as a happy, caring and kind person who always found the good in everyone and every situation. A peacemaker, she sought to maintain her family's happiness and was the best mother and Mima.
Alison set an example for all of us. She appreciated and enjoyed every moment with her family and friends. She found the good in people and always smiled. She showed us how important every holiday, family function and each minute of life is. She taught us what to truly value in life.
Alison’s legacy is the gift of love and light which she shared with all who met her. If we can all remember her light and strive to pass it on through our actions, then she will forever live on in our hearts and continue to illuminate this world.
Called home to God, Alison left us far too soon on Tuesday, August 26, surrounded by her family. She is survived and missed by the love of her life, Phil; her children Kevin, Keith, Jennifer, and Abby; their spouses Traci, Melissa, William and David; her grandchildren, Brandon, Logan, Charles, James, Peyton, Charlie, Paige, and William Junior, her brother John, and her extended family Clayton and Tracy.
