William Peter Bulis

William Peter, "Bill" Bulis, age 76, formerly of Oak Beach, NY passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 in Denver, Colorado. Bill was born to Antons and Marija Bulis in Riga, Latvia. He is a 1960 graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School and received his BS in Civil Engineering from City College of New York in 1966. Bill served in the CCNY Army ROTC unit and remained active with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) throughout his career as a civil engineer with the City of New York. Bill’s talents and interests were many, he was the engineer-in-charge for major upgrades to the 59th Street Bridge and for the restoration of the Brooklyn Bridge in preparation for the bridge’s centennial anniversary celebration. He took great joy in spending time with family and fishing the bays and coast of Long Island and Nantucket. William was an accomplished engineer as well as a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Olivetta; son, William A. Bulis and his wife Courtney, daughter Jennifer Todd and her husband, James; 4 grandchildren, Cameron and Grace Todd and Jake and Katie Bulis, brother Joseph Bulis and sister Irena Mahalek and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services and committal ceremony will be held at 10:45 AM Friday, June 7, 2019 at Pinelawn Memorial Park And Arboretum, Farmingdale NY.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Thursday, June 6th, 2019 at Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home, 245 Main St, West Sayville, NY 11796. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by St. Andrews Village and Halcyon Hospice in Denver.
