Virginia Melrose Hroncich, 78, of Crane Lakes Community, Port Orange, FL, formerly of Sayville, passed away on April 3, 2018, at Halifax Health Medical Center. A native of Long Island, NY, Virginia graduated from Baldwin High School class of 1957. She was also a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Church. After moving to Port Orange she was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She was a dog lover especially to her dogs Percy and Peanuts and supported many charities. Virginia was predeceased by her parents Margaret and Percival Familton, her sister, Clare Raynor and husband Thomas Hroncich. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Janet Hroncich (Joanne), sons Thomas Malanga (John), John Hroncich (Michelle) and Brian Hroncich (Colleen), sisters Faye Thompson (Pete) and Sally Familton- Phelps (Lee), grandchildren Maggie, Emma, Sean, Ciara, Erin and Maura and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:30-9:00 pm Friday April 13, 2018 at the Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Hwy West Sayville, New York 11796. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:45 am Saturday April 14, 2018 at St. Lawrence the Martyr Church followed by interment in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Pallbearers are Thomas Malanga, John Hroncich, Brian Hroncich, Sean Hroncich , Lee Phelps and John Malanga. Donations may be made in her memory to Catholic Charities.
