Robert Russell Obituary

Robert L. Russell, 81, of Bayport, LI, died on September 2, 2019. Raised in West Babylon, Robert graduated from North Babylon High School and went on to serve in the US Navy for four years.  He was also an Eagle Scout.  Mr. Russell worked for many years as a Journeyman Electrician with the Electrician’s Union, Local 25, before retiring more than twenty years ago.  He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and boater; a Master Captain and earned his license from the US Merchant Marine Office with the US Coast Guard. Robert was also a member and Past Commodore of the Domino Yacht Club in East Patchogue.

Mr. Russell is survived by his wife, Barbara, his four sons, Robert (Nancy) of Sayville, Matthew (Gail) of Holtsville, Steven (Patricia) of Bayport and James (Susan) of Maine, as well as his six grandchildren, Daniel, Nicholas, Steven, Alexandra, Olivia and Maeve.

Friends and relatives will gather 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. on Friday, September 6that Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in Bayport, where a service will be held at 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions made to Visiting Nurse Service of Suffolk, 101 Laurel Road, East Northport, NY 11731, are appreciated.
