Interment- Long island National Cemetery

Robert C. D’Andrea, 83, of Amityville, LI, died suddenly on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.  A lifelong resident of Amityville, Bob graduated from Amityville High School and went on earn his Bachelor’s Degree at SUNY Albany and later his Master’s Degree at Hofstra University.  He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.  Early on, Bob worked as a State Park Policeman before becoming a teacher in the Massapequa School District.  He was also a successful businessman and owned and operated Superior Fund Raising Company and Abby Lynn Real Estate Enterprises.

Mr. D’Andrea is survived by his wife, Virginia, his two children, Robert and his wife Dawn and Vickie Carter, all of West Islip, his two grandsons, Thomas and Danny Carter, as well as three brothers, Albert, David and Gilbert.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Abby Lynn, his son-in-law, Thomas Carter, and three siblings, Gloria Bush and Richard and Joseph D’Andrea.

Friends and relatives gathered on Sunday, August 12that Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, August 13that St. Martin of Tours RC Church in Amityville and interment followed at Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn.
