John "Fred" McGee

Visiting Hours:  Friday, December 22nd, 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at our West Sayville funeral home.

Funeral Service:  Saturday, December 23rd, 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Episcopal Church, Sayville.

Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

John “Fred,” McGee, 86, of Sayville, LI, died on Monday, December 18, 2017.  Raised in New Jersey, Fred attended St. John’s University on a track scholarship where he earned his Bachelors’ Degree.  He would go on to serve in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War and later retired as a Colonel.  Mr. McGee worked for more than thirty years in the Commack School District as a teacher and an administrator before retiring as High School Principal.  He was also a longtime track official throughout Suffolk County.

Mr. McGee is survived by his wife, Theresa, his three children, Sean and his wife Keli of Alaska, Colonel Maura Hennigan and her husband Joseph of Okinawa, Japan and Charles and his wife Linda of Florida, his six grandchildren, John, Sean, Megan, Makaela, Makensie and Mollie, as well as his siblings, June Risley of Pennsylvania and William McGee of New Jersey.
