Francis Everett Logan, 92, of Patchogue passed away on March 25, 2019 after a very full life. A third generation Patchogue Village native, he was a paratrooper in the 82ndAirborne Division during the World War II era and returned to his home town. He was a retired New York Telephone engineer, served as Patchogue Village Historian and as a Patchogue Village Trustee, and was the senior member of the Patchogue Fire Department. He served as a member of the Van Guard Hose Company for 74 years, climbing the ranks to Captain.
Known as Bucko, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Logan; his sons Dennis (Carrie) and James (Daphne); and his daughter Janet Allmer (Dennis) and nine loving grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers Richard and Robert Theodore.
A wake will be held at the Raynor and D’Andrea Funeral Home at 683 Montauk Highway in Bayport on Saturday, March 30 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 31 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church on Monday, April 1 at 12:15 and interment with full military honors will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
