EILEEN J. FLYNN-A CELEBRATION OF A BEAUTIFUL LIFE

Born November 8, 1919 in Jersey City, New Jersey, Eileen was the daughter of Elizabeth and John Winn.  She was one of six sisters, Catherine, Dorothy, Ann, Alice and Betty (all of whom predeceased her).  Eileen grew up in Jersey City and attended Saint Bridget’s school.  After high school, Eileen worked as a comptometer operator in a commercial bank.  She married Robert Flynn on February 24, 1949.  Robert and Eileen moved to Brooklyn, New York where they raised three children Robert (Maureen), Kenneth, Susan (John Trafford).  They were also blessed with two granddaughters Kathleen (fiance’ Edward Froehlich) and Megan.  They moved to Long Island and in 1962 and after raising the children, Eileen worked as a secretary in the Central Islip School District.  She enjoyed swimming in her pool and knitting especially for her granddaughters.   Eileen delighted in being with her family.  In later years the Winn sisters  enjoyed  long weekends visiting each other. Eileen also enjoyed seeing her  wonderful nieces and nephews on family occasions and they  have remained loyal and loving visitors up until her death. She was also blessed with a wonderful and caring friend and helper Anita for the last eight and one half years.   She had a strong faith in God and said her daily rosary.  We know she was greeted with open arms by her husband Robert (who predeceased her in 1987) and her loving sisters.  We will miss her dearly and have been blessed with her presence for all these years.
