Edward Joseph Kennelly

Edward Joseph Kennelly, a lifetime resident of Bayport, passed away on October 7, 2019. Edward received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Syracuse. Edward retired from Grumman after 36 years working as a research engineer. He was a 76 year member of the Bayport Fire Department, Ex-President of Long Island Soaring, and Ex-Commodore of the Great South Bay Scooter Club. 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carole, his children, Bill of Patchogue, and Meghan and her husband Tony of Ossining, his grandchildren, Christopher William, and his wife Ashley, Amy, Jason Edward, and Trevor, and his nieces and nephews, Robin Thompson, Sandy Kennelly, Michele Kennelly, Don Porter and Philip Porter. 

Friends and family will gather Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home, West Sayville. Bayport Firematics will be held Saturday 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends will gather Sunday at 9:30 a.m and leave the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. with a procession past the Bayport Fire department, Bayport Beach, Edward's home, and Edward's childhood home, ending with his interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue, with military honors. 

A reception to continue with the celebration of Edward's life will be at the Bayport Fire Department after the cemetery. All are welcome to attend
