Diane Musumeci, 70, a longtime resident of West Sayville and formerly of Queens, died on August 12 at a long-term care facility in Tampa, Florida, following a long illness. Diane was born in Brooklyn on April 21, 1949, the daughter of Alec and Evelyn (Ritter) Leba. On September 11, 1971 Diane married the love of her life, Tony Musumeci, who survives her, and moved to West Sayville in 1975. She enjoyed fishing and boating, Italian cooking, and bingo. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a devout parishioner of St. Lawrence R.C. Church in Sayville and was known by all for her kind heart and generosity to all. She is also survived by her son, Anthony Musumeci of Islip, and his spouse Nicole; her grandchildren Grace and Landon; her sisters Allison and Evelyn; and 23 nieces and nephews. Her entire family will miss Diane’s sweet smile, her kind heart, and her generous soul. May she rest in peace.
