Denis Patrick McArdle, age 55, of Deer Park, passed away on August 18, 2019. Raised in Merrick, Denis graduated from Mepham High School, and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree at St. John’s University.  Denis performed more than thirty-four years of service with the New York City Transit Authority in various leadership roles, and was recently promoted from Chief Officer to Assistant Coordinator for the New Fare Payment System. 

Denis is survived by his wife, Abbie, and members of his family; his brothers John and his wife Debbie, of Massachusetts, Bill and his wife Emily, of South Carolina, and his sisters, Joan and her husband Ken, of Michigan, Maureen and her husband Don, of New York, and Patricia and her husband Robert, of New York. He is also survived by many of his nieces and nephews; and, was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy, and his sister, Eileen.

 Denis enjoyed many different kinds of music and often attended live performances. He was also a life-long loyal New York Yankee fan, and could often be seen proudly wearing a New York Yankee baseball cap.  More importantly, Denis will always be remembered for the kindness, compassion, and generosity he showed towards his co-workers, friends, and family; and, his unwavering friendship will be greatly missed by all.

 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to honor Denis’ memory by donating to the American Heart Association.
