Funeral Mass:  Tuesday, May 22nd, 11:15 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church, Sayville.

Private cremation to follow.

April Torre, 78, a resident of Sayville, LI since 1968, died on May 18, 2018.  Born and raised in Freeport NY to Joseph and Norma Preziosi, April attended Holy Redeemer Parochial School and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy.  She attended St. John’s University where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Education.  Mrs. Torre taught for many years in several school districts on Long Island including Sayville and Massapequa.  She was also the President of the Sayville Substitute Teachers’ Association and a longtime member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).  April was an avid patron of the performing arts and enjoyed traveling with her husband.

Mrs. Torre is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph, her four children, Simone Torre of Oneida, NY, Michael Torre of Astoria NY, Noelle Harris and her husband David of Holly Ridge NC and Daniel Torre of Sayville NY, her five grandchildren, Rebecca, Sean, Olivia, Ella and Roman, as well as her three siblings, Sharon Pihlquist, Deana Huminski and Gregory Preziosi.
