8 Cool Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Published: June 15, 2020

It’s easy to lose track of what day it is now, but it’s time to start planning for Father’s Day. Taking place on June 21st, it will be here before you know it! We’ve compiled some great gift ideas to help celebrate the father figure’s in your life.

1. For the Dad who Loves to Grille

With the oncoming summer season, there’s no better time to get the father in your life some grilling accessories so he’s ready to make some food! With the overabundance of grilling merchandise on the market, you are sure to find the perfect idea!

If you are close with family members who also need to buy dad a gift, why not band together and buy an actual grill if he needs an upgrade. Find out if he wants a smoker, charcoal grill or propane grill, and split the cost. If he already has a grill, there are so many extras to choose from. Rapid-read meat thermometers are always a great tool, if you wanted to buy something affordable. You could also get a grilling accessories kit, or a barbecue apron.

2. For the Sentimental Father

For the dad in your life is one who likes personalized, unique gifts, there are so many options to choose from! On websites like Shutterfly or Snapfish, you can have anything made with pictures of your dad’s kiddos or grandkids. You could order personalized calendars, mugs, mouse pads, jigsaw puzzles - the possibilities are endless! If money is tight, you could print up some of your favorite pictures and make a collage or pick your favorite one and have it framed. Whatever you choose, if it comes from the heart, your father is sure to love it!

3. For the Coffee Enthusiast

There are many great coffee-themed gifts for the java enthusiast. If you wanted to buy your pop a large gift, a new coffee pot might do the trick. You could also look into neat accessories like a quirky mug or fancy coffee grinder.

It’s always fun to try new things, and if your father or husband (or father of your grandchildren!) enjoys coffee, you could consider purchasing them a variety pack of different coffee pods or grounds so they can experiment with different flavors they might not have thought to try before.

4. For the Businessman

For the dad who needs to wear a suit to work, you can’t go wrong with a new tie! You can even order custom ties online, to really create something special. Another great gift is a monogrammed briefcase or laptop bag.

5. The Gamer Dad

With plenty of gaming systems and accessories on the market, you are bound to find the perfect gift for your gaming dad or husband. A nice pair of gaming headphones will help elevate his video game experience. Try to see if there’s a particular game he’s interested in that he’d enjoy playing.

6. The Sports Fan

If your dad is a sports enthusiast, there is no lack of memorabilia to choose from. From a favorite jersey or a framed picture of an admired athlete, you can go big or small in choosing something unique. Even a nice football that they can throw around the yard with their children can be a perfect present.

7. For the Handyman in Your Life

If your dad or your husband loves to tinker around the house and work on projects, there are so many wonderful items you could gift him. From a new hammer, to a beautiful new toolbox, a fancy drill to a top of the line chainsaw, you can really outfit the special guy in your life with the tools he needs to get the job done. If you’re clueless as to what tools he needs/wants, a gift card to a local hardware store can go a long way and help support a local business at the same time.

8. For the Dad that Loves to Exercise

Is your dear old dad a gym rat? Or does he like working out at home? Whatever he prefers, you are bound to find an ideal gift that will help him as he works on his fitness. There are a lot of different options for fitness trackers, from an Apple Watch (if it’s in your budget) to a Fitbit or Garmin device. For a dad who loves to run, you could look into getting him some nice new sneakers or a snazzy water bottle to stay hydrated on his laps. Does he prefer exercising at home? Look into some nice hand weights or a workout mat.

Remember, these are just some ideas - no one knows the father in your life better than family. If all you can do this year is something small, that’s OK too, if a gift comes from your heart, it can be the most meaningful.
