Hilda Thomson Obituary

Hilda Lynn Thomson, known affectionately as "Lynn" to her loved ones, passed away on April 14th, 2024. Born on September 21, 1942, in Manhattan, New York, Lynn's journey was marked by unwavering dedication to her family, her profession, and most notably, her selfless care for her mother in her battle with Alzheimer’s.

Lynn's academic pursuits led her to earn a bachelor's degree from Hunter’s College and later a Master’s in Education. Her career as an elementary school teacher exemplified her passion for nurturing young minds until she gracefully transitioned into caring for her ailing mother. Following her teaching tenure, Lynn contributed her talents to the Town of Islip, embodying her commitment to service.
She was characterized by her infectious smile, a reflection of her immense heart and genuine warmth towards all she encountered. Lynn's love for food, her cherished cats, and dogs illuminated her life with joy and companionship.

Lynn leaves behind a profound legacy of compassion and love, etched in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband (James P., commonly know as "Jim") and parents (Ivor David & Vivianne).

Lynn is survived by her devoted children (James S. Thomson, David Thomson & Heather A. Thomson) and as well as her extended family and friends.
