Joan C. Poretta age 93, longtime resident of Inwood, New York passed on Wednesday April 17th, 2024. Beloved wife for 75 years to the late Emanuel. She is survived by her son David and wife Andra of Sayville and her granddaughter Jessica. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7-9 pm in our West Sayville location. Church service will be on Wednesday April 24th 10:00 am at St. Johns' Lutheran Church in Sayville. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

Maria Elizabeth Anna van Amson, Lies or Lisa to those who knew and loved her, passed away on March 15, 2024 after a brief illness.  Lies was born in Paramaribo, Suriname at the start of the second world war. As the child of a career member of the Dutch military she spent her childhood in Suriname, Indonesia and the Netherlands where she attended high school.  After high school she continued to travel by going to France to study and then by working as an Au Pair in England. ...
