Interment- Sayville Union Cemetery

May Boogertman, (nee VanEssendelft), age 90, passed away peacefully and was welcomed to her Heavenly home by her Savior and Lord on January 17, 2017.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She was born and lived in West Sayville for 89 years and just recently moved to Michigan to be close to family. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Boogertman, former Islip Town Receiver of Taxes,  son Brian, her siblings Jane Style, Carol VanDellen,  John,  Marvin and Tom  VanEssendelft. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Karen Boogertman, Shirley, NY, son, Steven Boogertman, Wyoming MI, daughters, Virginia (Ray) Lackey, Caledonia, MI, and Ann (Don) DeGroot, Byron Center, MI, twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, five sister-in-laws, Flora VanEssendelft, Mary Nancy VanEssendelft, Adelaide Popely, Dorothy Newhouse and Sandra Boogertman.  She was a life-long member of West Sayville Reformed Bible Church, formerly WSCRC.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.  She leaves a legacy of love, selflessness, contentment and thankfulness.  Friends and relatives will gather on Friday, January 20th, 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home, West Sayville, where a religious service will be held on Saturday, January 21st.  Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Sayville.  In the lieu of flowers, memorial donations to West Sayville Christian School, 37 Rollstone Avenue, West Sayville, New York 11796, would be appreciated.
