Joan Rose McPherson

Committal Service- Monday February 20, 2017 at 12 noon at Long Island National Cemetery

Joan Rose McPherson, a resident of Sayville since 1972, passed away on February 15, 2017. Joan was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church since the time she moved into Sayville. She was a teacher for the Church’s Sunday School and was always helping with the arts and crafts for the Church Christmas Fair. She was a caring and giving person, making donations to organizations such as Cancer Research, Animal Rescue, and all the local Organizations that respond to and help her fellow residents. Joan was an avid Mets fan and would never miss an opportunity to watch their games.

            She is survived by her daughter Donna Paula, her granddaughter Amanda Paula, and her sister Audrey Phelan. She is predeceased by her husband Thomas.

            Friends and family gathered at Long Island National Cemetery on Monday February 20, 2017 with Pastor Brian Noack celebrating. Cremation was private.
