Gerard J. Crean

Gerard J. Crean, 84, of Sayville, LI, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016.  A resident of Sayville for the past 54 years, Mr. Crean was a very active, longtime member of St. Lawrence RC Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a former member of the Parish Council.  He was also a professed member of the Secular Franciscan Order for 42 years.

Mr. Crean is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gertrude, his seven children, Karen Horvath and her husband Brad of North Carolina, Mother Therese, OCD of Rochester, NY, Donna Crean of Patchogue, Debra Smith and her husband Michael of Arizona, Judith Heffernan and her husband Paul of Sayville, Gerard Crean  Jr. and his wife Colette of Patchogue and Mark Crean and his wife Denise of Farmingville, his eighteen grandchildren, Cindy and her husband Robert, Bonnie and her husband Jason, Denise, Sharon and her husband Joseph, Kristi and her husband Kellen, David and his wife Sarah, Courtney, Julie, Nicholas, Cameron, Anne, Deirdre, Nolan, Benedict, Peter, Maximilian, Jason and Samuel, his thirteen great-grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Noelle, Alexa, Cole, Reagan, Marlowe, Kayla, Jake, Justin, Lydia and Dylan, his brother, David of Seaford, as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother Anthony.

Visiting Hours:  Thursday, December 1st, 7-9:30 and Friday, December 2nd, 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. at our Bayport funeral home, 683 Montauk Highway.

Funeral Mass:  Saturday, December 3rd, 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church, Sayville.

Interment to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Lakeland Avenue, Sayville.
