George L. Spruce

Funeral Service:  Saturday, April 23rd at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

George L. Spruce, 88, of Sayville, LI, died on Sunday, April 17, 2016.  A lifelong resident of Sayville, George graduated from Sayville High School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.  He worked for many years as a land surveyor at Peter VanWheele Land Surveyors in Islip.  Mr. Spruce was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time at his hunting cabin in Delhi, New York.

Mr. Spruce is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Jean, his four children, Donna of Medford, George, Jr. of Sayville, David and his wife Jan, also of Sayville and Ellen of Endicott, NY, as well as his granddaughter, Danielle Cooley and her husband Harold and his great-grandson, Harold, IV.  A special thanks to Dr. Toset, Good Samaritan SICU and Palliative Care for their incredible care and compassion.
