Dear Barbara, Mary Alice, Buddy, Michael and family members,

For many years, I prayed with Buddy at Our Lady of the Snow. He was always full of smiles and good jokes. Dad's prayer life was exceptional and I'm sure he went right up to Heaven. I was away at the time of his death and burial, but be assured he will always be in my heart with remembrance and loving thoughts.

God bless you all, you are a great family.

I join all family and friends in extending my sincerest condolences in this time of loss.

If I may share one memory. Fifty summers ago my Uncle Bud observed my fascination with baseball and the statistics of every player, but more significantly, my devotion to a Yankees team that was a mere shadow of its former glory. Together with my cousins he took the gang to the original Yankee Stadium - the House that Ruth built. I will never forget the double header (remember those?) we witnessed against the Minnesota Twins - remarkably, Bud's friend Sal Maglie was their manager! To see a real baseball game, to hear the name Mickey Mantle over the loud speaker, to feel the scope and panorama of baseball's greatest temple - this was unforgettable for an 8 year old baseball fan.

But the best memory was a baseball Uncle Bud gave me after the game, with the scores of each game painstaking etched on the leather surface. I remember asking my mom if everyone got such a ball after their first game; no, that is only something you get when you travel with your Uncle Buddy. And so his legacy - to always make those he knew feel special. And in that he understood one of life's secrets - by sharing his love he knew happiness and peace

Thanks again for a great trip fifty years ago and my best to each of my cousins and their families

Hughie
