Funeral Mass:  Friday, August 12th at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snow RC Church, Blue Point.

Interment to follow in Blue Point Cemetery.

Esper J. Wenk, Jr., 90, a resident of the Blue Point area for more than 60 years, died on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Mr. Wenk was raised in Hempstead and served in the US Army during World War II.  He was an operating engineer with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 138 for many years.  Mr. Wenk was also a member of the AmVets, Hammond Biggs Post in Patchogue for many years.

Mr. Wenk is survived by his four children, Loretta Plock and her husband George of New Jersey, E. James, III and his wife Shelley of Blue Point, Jacquelyn Buckleman and her husband Tom of Blue Point and Alice Matthews and her husband David of New Jersey, as well as his grandchildren, Robby, George, Greg, Thomas, EJ, IV, Brian, Jesse and Victoria, and his five great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his wife, Loretta in 2012 and by his daughter, Carol Rutkowski in February.
