Funeral Mass- Monday November 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene RC Church, Bohemia

Interment- Calverton National Cemetery

     Emma Ford, age 94, of Commack New York, formally West Babylon passed away peacefully to be with her beloved husband on November 16, 2017.  Emma was born on February 16, 1923 in Meridian Mississippi and met the love of her life, the late William Ford Sr., at a USO Dance in Mississippi. The couple soon married and settled in West Babylon, New York. Emma is the devoted mother of John Ford and his wife Nancy of Florida, Charles Ford and his wife Nancy of Simsbury, Connecticut, Joan Ryerson of Commack, New  York, William Ford Jr. and his wife Virginia of North Carolina, Linda Szczurowski and her husband Robert of Commack, New York, James Ford and his wife Sarah of Texas, Emma Ford of Lynbrook, New York, Mary Bennett and her husband Thomas of Oakdale, New York, and Elizabeth Ford of Colorado.

     Emma was the matriarch of a large, loving family who knew the virtues of family, loyalty and the value of quality time spent together. She was immensely proud of her family which included 31 grandchildren and 30 + great-grandchildren. She cherished the family get-togethers that brought her family from near and far to celebrate.

     Emma was known for her  gracious, kind spirit and a gentle smile.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always blessed by her warm hugs, gracious and generous personality, and love. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

     Emma was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Ford, Sr., and her grandson Arlo Tejada.

     Family and friends will gather at the Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, West Sayville, New York on November 19th for visitation from 2-4:30 pm and 7-9:30 pm. A celebration of Emma’s life will take place at St. John Nepamucene Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Monday, November 20th. A burial ceremony at Calverton National Cemetery will immediately follow the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Emma’s name to Good Shepherd Hospice, JDRF, or St. Jude’s.
