Dr. Joseph S. Verdone

Dr. Joseph S. Verdone, 77, of Sayville, LI, died on Monday, August 21, 2017.  Born and raised in Queens, Dr. Verdone served as the Superintendent of the Ticondaroga Public Schools for nearly ten years before moving to Long Island in 1985 where he served as Superintendent of Sayville Schools until 1997.  More recently, Dr. Verdone worked with the Suffolk County Office for Public Education.

Dr. Verdone is survived by his daughter, Janine Villez and her husband Jay of West Sayville, his son, James of Sayville, as well as his five grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexa Villez and Sam, Ben and Olivia Verdone, his longtime companion, Betty Vitale, his brother, George of Middle Island, and his sister, Frances of New Jersey.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville.  All services were private.
