Domenico Sodano, 86, also known as Dom to friends and Uncle Mimi to family, passed away on Nov. 5.

The Oakdale resident was a devoted husband, loving uncle and a good friend. He was a dedicated member of Knights of Columbus Post 6607 and a Eucharistic minister at St. John Nepomucene R.C. Church in Bohemia. He also volunteered many hours helping the residents of the Veterans Home in Stony Brook.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Arlene; his nephew, Anthony and wife, Dana; his niece, Elizabeth and husband, Robert; as well as his great-nephews, Bryan and wife, Chelsea, and Timothy. He also has a sister in Italy, Carolina Allocca (Santino), along with two nieces and three nephews.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Raynor and D’Andrea Funeral Home, West Sayville. A funeral Mass was held at St. John Nepomucene R.C. Church, followed by interment in St. John’s Cemetery.
